Flushed Away

Dreamworks has a great new preview for it's upcoming film Flushed Away. I've been eagerly awaiting this preview because I've been wondering what sort of character designs they would use. I had no idea Aardman was involved, and was pleasently surprised to see "Aardman-esque" character designs make the transition into CG. Also, from an animation standpoint, I don't think I've been this excited about a Dreamworks film yet (excluding Wallace & Gromit). Make sure you check it out:

Agreed. I saw this earlier today and I was blown away!

It's cool they used Aardman-esque designs, but what's even cooler is the fact they actually made it CG-stop-motion!!! The popping mouths, the static holds, brilliant idea.

Cheers!

I always wondered if CG stop motion would be a possibility (I mean, to have it actually look right and not poppy) but this is the perfect chance to do it! I'm not surprised that the Aardman-esque characters translated into CG so well seeing as they are usually 3d sculptures.
I love the part with the chocolate bar in the sewer! And the frog guy :)
