Basil of Baker Street

Before Katzenberg got ahold of this project, it was set to be released under the title of, "Basil of Baker Street." Katzenberg's reasoning for changing the title was for appeal to a larger audience, and so he changed it to, "The Great Mouse Detective." Although I have to agree that the new title appeals to more people, I like the old title way better, as it immediately gives the film a feeling of intimacy.
